LIONESS CLUB OF CALOUNDRA

ABOUT US

The Lioness Club of Caloundra was Chartered by the Lion's Club of Caloundra in February, 1983,
mainly from Lions Ladies Auxiliary members. We recently celebrated our 23rd Birthday.
The age group of our members varies from 30's to 80 year olds
and all add their expertise to our many and varied Community Service Activities.
As with most clubs numbers fluctuate for various reasons.

Some examples of our Activities include visits to Nursing Homes,
providing lunch for an elderly and infirm group the "Sunshiners",
assisting at Blood Bank, selling merchandise at the Meals on Wheels Thrift Shop,
assisting our Lions Club with projects, promoting Easter and Christmas raffles etc

Work in the local community

As well as our commitment to District Projects and helping our Sponsoring Lions Club,
We also provide volunteer ladies who prepare lunch for a Senior Citizens group,
We provide volunteers to work at the Meals on Wheels Thrift Shop, visit Aminya Nursing Home,
Caloundra Hospital Auxiliary and assist at red Cross Blood Bank and other local community events.

We also raise money for local charities such as to provide linen to the Lion's
Emergency Accommodation Centre for Adults and Children at Nambour,
donations to Surf Life Saving Club at Bulcock Beach etc.

What Else?

AH! that sounds like a lot of hard work! - Not really!
Members are encouraged to attend meetings regularly and participate in Club activities.
However we recognise that members have varying commitments and available time,

Club activities are voluntary!

Fellowship, friendship and social activities are important parts of Lionism.
Social events involving partners and families play an important part in our calendar.
You can travel almost anywhere in Australia and find a Lioness Club that will make you welcome.

Family and work commitments take precedence over Lioness tasks.

For those of you NOT using the Firefox browser my opinion is that you should check it out. It is "Free" and comes with many easily configurable ad-on features to customise your web browsing experience. The biggest advantages are it is a faster and much more secure browser. It prevents most popup ads, viruses and other nasties common with Internet Explorer. Check it out Here.
